Celebrate Labor Day Weekend with a Free Concert from Jefferson Starship at Fremont Street Experience
Last Chance to see Original Disco Themed Production – “Fremont Street Fever”
LAS VEGAS, Nev. – August 30, 2010 – Celebrate Labor Day Weekend at Fremont Street Experience and feel the magic of the “Summer of the ‘70s” with American rock legends Jefferson Starship. This free show will be one of Jefferson Starship’s last stops in the United States on their 40th anniversary tour. Playing classic hits like “Miracles,” “Sara” and “Somebody to Love,” Jefferson Starship will grace Fremont’s 1st Street Stage at 9 p.m. on Saturday, September 4. Also, this will be your last weekend to enjoy Fremont Street Fever, an original disco themed-production, which features song and dance performances of ’70s classics three times nightly September 2, 3, 5 and 6. Mojo Risin’, the tribute to Jim Morrison of the Doors, will be lighting up the 3rd street stage with free performances on Friday September 3, and Saturday September 4 from 9 p.m. – midnight. Visitors can also experience Viva Vision, the world’s largest video screen, as it showcases special ‘70s themed videos nightly.
Jefferson Starship – (1st Street Stage) – Saturday, September 4 at 9 p.m.
After the breakup of Jefferson Airplane, Jefferson Starship formed and revived the preceding band’s iconic status. Also releasing albums under the name Starship, the San Francisco based Jefferson Starship has crafted 12 albums reaching platinum or gold status. Not counting Jefferson Airplane singles, Jefferson Starship also climbed to the U.S. Hot 100 chart’s top ten six times. Despite numerous line-up changes, the group includes original members Paul Kantner, David Freiberg, Slick Aguilar and Donny Baldwin, along with more recent additions Chris Smith and Cathy Richardson.
Following their 2008 album, Jefferson’s Tree of Liberty, Jefferson Starship toured in the United Kingdom and as part of the 2009 Heroes of Woodstock Tour. On Labor Day Weekend, Jefferson Starship will be a must-see for residents and tourists alike.

This will be the final week of performances by Fremont Street Fever. Don’t miss this last chance to catch the original 35-minute production full of high energy singing and dancing featuring the most popular disco songs of the ’70s with such hits as “Shake Your Groove Thing,” “Staying Alive” and “Funky Town.” Produced by Face Productions, this homage to the disco-era music of the ’70s has been dazzling audiences.
Mojo Risin’ – (3rd Street Stage) – Friday and Saturday, September 3 and 4 from 9 p.m. – midnight
Mojo Risin’, a tribute to Jim Morrison of the Doors, features Drew Johnson who captures every nuance of the Lizard King. The band will perform three shows from 9 p.m. to midnight on Friday, September 3 and Saturday, September 4, each starting after the top-of-the-hour Viva Vision shows.

The music and culture from the decade of the 1970s is being featured in downtown Las Vegas this summer as Fremont Street Experience presents the “Summer of the ’70s” festival and free concert series.
