NAHM Doc Series: City Within a City: The Story of the Las Vegas Paiutes and the Native America Peoples of Nevada  (2016, 60 min, NR)
Co-sponsored by Desert Rose Productions
Thursday, November 17 –  7 p.m
Jewel Box Theater

It’s been called “a town within a town,” this century-old reservation of the Las Vegas Paiute Tribe. It’s a small, relatively obscure reservation that sits a few blocks north of the Fremont district. Few people know about this sliver of an urban reservation — even though it was the first to be established by the Southern Nevada Paiutes — in December 1911.  City Within a City, details the reservation’s history.

A Q&A session with the film’s director, Stan Armstrong, will follow the screening.
