The North Las Vegas Airport has a wonderful open-air deck for
blimps, as they take off and land from this busy airport - plus its
totally free to the public! There's even a speaker outside that allows
you to listen to the tower communicate with the pilots as they take
off and land (on FM 88.5).
If your hungry there's Leonard's Airport Cafe and Bar (located just
inside the viewing deck) that serves food and drinks from 7:00 a.m.
- 4:00 p.m. daily. They even have Happy Hour specials - what a
great way to unwind at the end of the day!
Stroll around the airport lobby where signs and pictures tell the
history of the airport which was built in 1941, and was once owned
by Howard Hughes. Ample free parking and a beautifully
landscaped picnic area are another neat feature here.
