Air Supply description

A lot of great things come out of Australia; good looking men, the best accents and tans you wish you could achieve in the States. And of course, Air Supply.

Coming out strong in ’75, this dynamic duo is as iconic as the O.G. PB&J. They put their hearts out on the line and were rewarded with enough groupies to last a lifetime. Their songs “Even the Nights Are Better” and “Making Love Out of Nothing at All” stole the throbbing, aching hearts of teen girls everywhere. Shakespeare might be known for his romance, but these two blow him out of the water with their lyrics. Making history in 2013, Air Supply was inducted into the Australian Recording Industry Association’s Hall of Fame, basically the same thing as The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in the States.

40 years in the industry, 19 studio albums and 27 hit singles later, Air Supply is coming to Vegas to show this city what entertainment looks like.

Three Dog Night description

We may be biased, but we definitely think dogs are better than cats – Stay with us we promise this is relevant.

Three Dog Night, the famous rock ‘n’ roll hot rods from the ‘70s, are grooving into the night. We know you’re probably wondering what the band name means, we’re getting there. Three Dog Night comes from an expression in Australia meaning the colder the night, the more dogs you need to keep warm while sleeping. To us, that just sounds like these three dudes love a good cuddle sesh.

Back to the point, they came in hot in 1969 with their first top 10 hit “One” and kept riding on the hot tamale train from there. Next to hit the charts was “Mama Told Me (Not to Come)” and after “Joy to the World.” No, it’s not the Christmas song, but you’ll be singing along like it is.

Catch these rock stars while you can when they hit the Vegas stage.

Comedian Steven Wright

Comedian Steven Wright Returns to The Orleans Showroom June 17-18

Steven Wright, the Academy Award-winning and Grammy-nominated comedian known for his trademark satire, absurdist one-liners, monotone voice and deadpan delivery, will return to The Orleans Showroom June 17 and 18.

After launching his comedy career at the age of 23 as a regular performer at Ding Ho’s Comedy Club and Chinese Restaurant in Cambridge, Mass., Wright got his big break and was booked on “The Tonight Show” with Johnny Carson. Following his performance, Wright was invited to return to the show the following week for a rare back-to-back appearance. His new kind of comedy and lackluster voice caught the comedy world’s attention, and he later appeared on “Saturday Night Live” and “Late Night” with David Letterman.

As his fame grew, he starred in two HBO specials – “A Steven Wright Special” and “Wicker Chairs and Gravity.”

In 1985, Wright received a Grammy nomination for his debut album, “I Have a Pony.” Twenty-two years later, he received a second Grammy nomination for its sequel, “I Still Have a Pony.” Following his second nomination, he was the first inductee into the Boston Comedy Hall of Fame.

In 1989, Wright won an Academy Award for Best Short Film for his satiric film, “The Appointments of Dennis Jennings,” which he co-starred in and wrote. Wright has also shown his acting chops in several films, including “So I Married an Axe Murderer,” “Desperately Seeking Susan,” “Half Baked” and “The Swan Princess.”

In the past few years, Wright has teamed up with fellow comedic force Louis C.K. In addition to two guest appearances on the hit TV series “Louie,” Wright has assumed the character “Leon” in the Louis C.K. web series “Horace and Pete.”

Showtime is 8 p.m. Tickets are available starting from $29.95 plus taxes and convenience fees, and can be purchased at any Boyd Gaming Box Office, by calling 702.284.7777 or visiting www.orleanscasino.com.
