“O” by Cirque du Soleil combines artistic swimming, high diving, acrobatics, aerial performance, theatrical characters and live music inside a custom theater at Bellagio.
Water is not simply scenery in “O.” It is the heart of the production.
The stage can transform between deep water and solid performance surfaces, allowing performers to swim, dive, disappear, fly above the pool and suddenly emerge onto what appears to be a dry stage.
The name “O” comes from the pronunciation of eau, the French word for water.
Rather than relying on extensive dialogue, the production tells its story through movement, music, imagery, characters and constantly changing stage environments.

The Stage Can Become Water — or Disappear Beneath It
The custom “O” Theatre was designed around a massive pool hidden beneath the performance surface.
Sections of the stage can rise and descend during the production, changing the apparent depth of the water and creating solid surfaces where performers were swimming moments earlier.
That engineering allows one scene to feature high diving and artistic swimming while the next appears to take place on a traditional stage.
It is the defining feature that separates “O” from other Cirque du Soleil productions in Las Vegas.
Wet Seats and Limited-View Seats
The first three rows of the theater are classified as Wet Seats.
Performers do not intentionally soak the audience, but light mist or splashing can occur because of the seats’ proximity to the pool.
Some seats are also identified as limited-view or limited-angle because of safety rails or viewing angles.
Check the seat description carefully before purchasing when an unobstructed view is important.
