The village rummage sale is an annual fundraising event featuring items donated by over 100 residents. Everything from furniture, kitchenware, household items, jewelry, tools, artwork, toys, and sports equipment has been available.
Proceeds from this event benefit the Blue Diamond Recreation Association and the Blue Diamond Volunteer Fire Department to provide maintenance of the park, pool, and Quonset hut as well as local community kid’s events such as the Blue Diamond Mustangs Swim Team, 4th of July parade and trick or treat at the fire station.
The Village of Blue Diamond was originally a company-owned town built in the 1940s for the workers of the Blue Diamond Gypsum Mine. In the 1960s the town was privatized and lots sold to individuals. The center park, pool and Quonset hut were turned over to the Blue Diamond Recreation Association for stewardship. These volunteer members are elected by the village residents.
Located on the original old Spanish trail, Blue Diamond Village is rich in local history. Our Blue Diamond Elementary School is the oldest continually operating school in Clark County. A pictorial history can be seen in the Village Market and the Cottonwood Station eatery.
