The Henderson Chamber of Commerce is currently seeking members of the business community to take part in its 9th annual Integrating Career Academies by Networking Business and Education (I CAN BE) program, a one-day event geared to help local freshmen better plan for their future and achieve their goals.
The program will visit three Henderson-area high schools this spring. It will run from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22 at Foothill High School, 800 College Drive, and on Wednesday, March 15 at Silverado High School, 1650 Silver Hawk Ave. The third event will be from 6:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19 at Basic Academy of International Studies high school, 400 Palo Verde Drive.
The event is free for students, who will learn which high school courses best suit their long-term, professional goals. Chamber members from the business community will volunteer their time to speak and mentor approximately 800 participants during each event.
