The classic Hans Christian Andersen story of “The Princess and the Pea” springs to life with beautiful five-foot puppets, a charming score and original script. The tale teaches the lesson that the true value of an individual is measured not by fancy titles or shiny trappings, but by the depth of his heart and the height of his dreams. Audiences of all ages will be spellbound. The production is fully staged and lasts about 45 minutes.
Established in 1981, the Utah Puppet Theater creates original productions based on classic children’s literature or original stories. The puppets are life-sized – big enough to see from the very back of the auditorium. The sets are colorful and fun. The puppets are manipulated bunraku style, with the puppeteers in full view of the audience. The productions are packed with music, dance, and lively action. Each show provides an enriching theatrical experience for viewers of any age. The Utah Puppet Theater is solely a touring group, performing for schools, libraries, and arts and community organizations. For more information on the performers, visit www.utahpuppettheater.com.
