Climb aboard the Nevada Southern Railway Historical Excursion Train at the Nevada State Railroad Museum in Boulder City—the city that helped build Hoover Dam. Passengers travel along the historic Boulder Branch Line, constructed by the Union Pacific Railroad during the 1930s to serve the Boulder Dam construction project.
Choose between open-air seating and climate-controlled passenger coaches while experiencing Southern Nevada’s railroad history. The museum and excursion train offer wheelchair-accessible accommodations.
The regular excursion lasts approximately 45 minutes. Admission to the Nevada State Railroad Museum is included with every train-ride ticket.
Regular Train Fares
- Adults: $15
- Children: $6
- Children ages 3 and younger: Free, but a ticket is still required for capacity tracking
- Veterans: Free with valid ID
- Groups of 12 or more: $12 per adult

Train Schedule
Regular excursion trains operate on Saturdays and Sundays from September through June.

Train rides are normally suspended during July and August because of extreme heat. Regular excursions also pause between Christmas and Martin Luther King Jr. weekend for annual inspections and maintenance. Special schedules apply to Santa Trains and other seasonal events.

From Las Vegas or Henderson, take I-11/US-95/US-93 south toward Boulder City and exit at Boulder City Parkway. Turn left onto Yucca Street immediately after the Taco Bell, then make an immediate right onto Six Companies Drive. Follow the road to the Visitor Center parking lot.
