Clever Magic, Quick Comedy and Real Audience Interaction

The Mac King Comedy Magic Show combines sleight of hand, visual surprises, absurd props and spontaneous audience interaction inside the Thunderland Showroom at Excalibur.

Mac King performs with an approachable, low-key style rather than presenting himself as a mysterious illusionist surrounded by giant stage effects.

An ordinary object may become the setup for a strange joke, an unexpected complication and then a magical payoff.

Audience volunteers are an important part of the experience. King reacts quickly to real answers and unexpected moments, so even familiar routines can feel different from one performance to another.

The 3:00 p.m. schedule also makes the show easy to combine with dinner, another performance or an evening elsewhere on the Strip.

What to Expect at Mac King Comedy Magic

Mac King keeps the production simple enough that the magic, comedy and volunteer reactions remain at the center.

• Sleight of hand: Cards, rope, paper and everyday objects become part of deceptively simple-looking routines.
• Visual comedy: Expressions, strange props and physical gags create laughs without relying only on dialogue.
• Audience volunteers: Adults and children may be invited to make choices, hold props or join Mac onstage.
• Quick improvisation: King turns unexpected audience reactions into part of the comedy.
• Family-friendly humor: The show works for children while still giving adults plenty to enjoy.
• No intermission: The approximately 70-minute show runs continuously.

MGM describes the show as a mix of sleight of hand, live goldfish, the famous paper-bag disappearance, rope magic, apparent invisibility and King’s trademark audience interaction.

Signature Mac King Routines

Several routines have become closely associated with Mac King’s long-running Las Vegas show.

The Flying Goldfish

King casts a fishing line over the audience and appears to catch a live goldfish from thin air.

The Paper-Bag Disappearance

A simple paper bag becomes part of a routine in which King appears to make his head disappear without a giant illusion apparatus.

Colonel Sanders

Mac King’s guinea pig is part of one of his most recognizable comedy-magic sequences.

Rope Magic and Apparent Invisibility

Low-tech-looking props become the setup for surprisingly strong magical payoffs.

Specific routines, volunteers and performance elements can change, so book for the complete Mac King experience rather than one guaranteed trick.
