The City of Las Vegas has enclosed off-leash areas throughout the city, ranging from dedicated dog facilities to dog runs located inside larger neighborhood and regional parks.
Barkin’ Basin Park

Boulder City distinguishes between fenced dog parks and other designated off-leash areas. Dogs should remain leashed in public places unless they are inside an approved off-leash location.
Veterans Memorial Park Dog Parks

The two fenced areas provide nearly 4.5 acres of combined play space. Amenities include shade, seating, water, and nearby trails within the larger Veterans Memorial Park.
Other Boulder City Off-Leash Areas
Boulder City also designates certain additional public areas for off-leash use during approved times or under specific conditions. These include:
- North Escalante Park near City Hall
- Linear Park along designated portions of the drainage corridor
- Approved outlying desert areas
- The desert area immediately west of Veterans Memorial Park during park hours
- Pratte Field at Veterans Memorial Park during designated morning hours

Dogs using these designated off-leash areas must remain under voice command and within sight of a person age 18 or older at all times.
Important: Hemenway Park is not a dog recreation area because of wildlife concerns. Follow posted restrictions at playgrounds, sports fields, courts, pools, and other facilities.
Las Vegas Dog Park Rules & Heat Safety
Keep the Leash Handy
Off-leash privileges generally apply only inside designated dog areas. Keep dogs leashed while walking through parking lots, paths, picnic areas, and other parts of a park unless signs specifically allow off-leash use.
Supervise Your Dog
Stay close enough to intervene when needed. Remove your dog if play becomes aggressive, disruptive, or unsafe. Owners remain responsible for their dogs while using public parks.
Clean Up After Your Dog
Bring waste bags even when a park normally provides them. Clean up promptly and use designated trash receptacles.
Follow Local Licensing and Vaccination Rules
Requirements can differ between Las Vegas, Clark County, Henderson, North Las Vegas, and Boulder City. Keep required licensing and vaccinations current and follow the rules posted at each facility.
Protect Paws From Hot Surfaces
Las Vegas pavement, artificial surfaces, gravel, and exposed ground can become dangerously hot. Check the surface before allowing a dog to walk or run on it, especially during warmer months.
Visit During Cooler Hours
Early morning is often the most comfortable time for dog-park visits during hot weather. Bring drinking water even when a park normally has fountains, provide frequent breaks, and avoid strenuous activity when temperatures are high.
Expect Periodic Maintenance Closures
