Las Vegas Christmas Tree Recycling (2025–2026): Drop-Off Sites + Rules (Henderson Included)
Got a real Christmas tree and ready to reclaim your living room after the holidays? Good news: Southern Nevada offers a highly successful, free Christmas tree recycling community program with official drop-off locations conveniently distributed throughout Las Vegas, Henderson, North Las Vegas, Summerlin, Southern Highlands, and Boulder City. Instead of crowding local landfills, your holiday tree will be processed into fresh organic mulch to support community parks and public landscaping projects valley-wide.
Quick Facts (Save This)
Dec. 26, 2025 – Jan. 15, 2026
Remove all lights, wire, tinsel, ornaments, nails, and the stand.
Flocked trees (sprayed artificial “snow”) cannot be recycled.
Heads up: The Springs Preserve drop-off center remains strictly closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and will not accept tree drop-offs on those specific weekdays.
Dates + Rules (What’s Accepted)
- Official Collection Window: December 26, 2025, through January 15, 2026.
- Real, Organic Trees Only: This eco-friendly conservation program is built exclusively for natural, cut Christmas trees. Artificial plastic trees are barred from entry.
- Strip Non-Organic Components Completely: Before arriving at a drop point, you must remove all lights, electrical wires, tinsel fragments, ornaments, hanging hooks, nails, and the base stand. Non-organic materials can permanently damage processing machinery and contaminate community mulch.
- Zero Flocked Trees: Pine trees sprayed with chemical artificial snow (“flocked” variants) cannot be processed or turned into organic compost and must be disposed of via standard garbage collection.

Frequently Asked Questions: Southern Nevada Tree Recycling
Are chemically flocked holiday trees accepted at the parks?
No. Pine trees sprayed with artificial white chemical snow (“flocked” variants) cannot be safely turned into organic mulch and will harm community landscaping equipment. These must be arranged for normal garbage collection.
Do I really need to pull out every nail and ornament piece?
Yes—absolutely everything non-organic must be stripped away, including electrical light strands, wires, tinsel strands, small ornaments, hanging hooks, nails, and plastic base stands. Metal objects can shred recycling blades and ruin community mulching grids.
Can I drop a tree off at the Springs Preserve on a Tuesday afternoon?
No. The Springs Preserve operates on a Thursday-through-Monday gate schedule. The entire campus remains completely closed to the public on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and cannot process tree drop-offs on those specific days.
Is there any base cost associated with dropping a tree off?
No. Dropping your tree off at any of the official city, county, park, or Lowe’s locations listed above is 100% free of charge. Only private, on-demand curbside pickup applications carry a fee.
Where can I monitor the most up-to-date regional mapping tools?
