What Is Included with Blazin’ Paddles Tours?
Inclusions depend on whether the reservation is guided, self-guided, shuttle-inclusive, drive-yourself, standard, or deluxe.
Kayaking Equipment
Tours and rentals include the selected kayak, paddles, and a personal flotation device. Self-guided products also include a map or route information.
Professional Guide
Guided products include an experienced guide. Blazin’ Paddles identifies its guided-tour staff as wilderness first-aid certified.
Water and Snacks
Standard guided tours include bottled water and snacks. Self-guided rentals do not include them.
Lunch or Campfire Food
The standard Full-Day Tour includes lunch. Deluxe products may also include lunch, while the Twilight Paddle currently includes hot dogs and s’mores at the campfire stop.
Transportation
Standard guided packages may include shuttle transportation from designated Las Vegas, Downtown, or company-office pickup points. Drive-yourself versions exclude that service.
Park and Launch Permits
Required permits are included on designated Hoover Dam launch tours. Guests meeting directly at Willow Beach may remain responsible for the park entrance charge.
What to Expect on the Colorado River
Black Canyon combines cold, clear Colorado River water with steep desert cliffs, rocky shorelines, historic engineering sites, beaches, caves, and natural springs. River conditions can feel very different from the surrounding desert.
Emerald Cave is a small natural feature whose color and lighting depend on the sun, time of day, water conditions, crowds, and the angle from which it is viewed. Entry or photography inside the cave cannot be guaranteed during every trip.
Changing Wind
Wind can make an otherwise easy route substantially more difficult. Guides may recommend double kayaks or alter the plan when conditions require it.
Cold River Water
The Colorado River below Hoover Dam remains cold throughout the year, even during hot summer weather.
Rocky Shorelines
Guests may enter and exit kayaks on beaches or uneven rocky terrain. Secure water shoes or sneakers that can get wet are strongly recommended.
Possible Wildlife
Bighorn sheep, bald eagles, waterfowl, and other animals live in the area, but wildlife moves freely and sightings are not guaranteed.
No Guaranteed Dry Storage
Kayaks have storage compartments, but personal belongings are not guaranteed to remain dry. Use a waterproof case or dry bag for valuables.
Shuttle, Meeting, and Parking Information
Blazin’ Paddles offers pickup from designated hotels along the Strip and Downtown, as well as from its store inside Hoover Dam Lodge. The exact pickup options depend on the selected tour.
Guests staying at a hotel without a designated stop may need to walk or arrange transportation to the nearest approved pickup point. Transportation to that meeting point is not included.
Some products offer discounts when guests skip the Las Vegas shuttle and meet at Hoover Dam Lodge or Willow Beach. Those offers may use a separate promotion and can have different park-fee responsibilities from the Vegas4Locals code.
Guests meeting at Willow Beach are responsible for the current National Park Service entrance or parking charge unless it is covered by an accepted park pass. Confirm the meeting location before driving because Hoover Dam Lodge and Willow Beach are separate locations.
For transportation to a designated Strip pickup point, review the Las Vegas ride-share guide.

Blazin’ Paddles Kayak Tours FAQ
Q: Is the V4L discount taken from the prices shown on the Blazin’ Paddles website?
A: Yes. Enter code V4L in the voucher field during online checkout to receive 15% off eligible products. The discount may not combine with other promotional rates.
Q: Is Emerald Cave guaranteed to look bright green?
A: No. Its appearance depends on sunlight, season, water conditions, timing, crowds, and viewing angle. Access may also be affected by river conditions.
Q: Which tour is best for someone who has never kayaked?
A: The guided Half-Day Tour is generally the best starting point because it includes instruction, a guide, a shorter four-mile route, and an easy-to-moderate difficulty rating.
Q: Does every tour launch beneath Hoover Dam?
A: No. Full-day and selected deluxe or self-guided routes use the Hoover Dam launch area. Half-day, Twilight, and Willow Round Trip products generally launch from Willow Beach.
Q: Can guests bring their own food?
A: Guests may bring suitable personal food when allowed, but storage space is limited. Full-day and deluxe guided packages may include lunch, while self-guided paddlers must bring their own food and water.
Q: Are hot springs included on the Half-Day Tour?
A: No. The four-hour Willow Beach routes do not provide enough time to visit the Black Canyon hot springs. Choose a full-day Hoover Dam route when hot springs are an important priority.
Q: Can guests leave belongings at the office?
A: Blazin’ Paddles does not provide lockers. Bring as little as possible and protect phones, cameras, identification, and other valuables with waterproof storage.
Q: What happens when Blazin’ Paddles cancels a tour?
A: The current product policies state that the company refunds the payment when it cancels a tour. Weather and operating decisions remain under the company’s control.
Q: Can one promotion be combined with code V4L?
A: Do not assume discounts can be stacked. Drive-yourself and local promotions may require different codes, pickup locations, or booking conditions.
