Free Mulch Pickup (Optional)

Recycled trees are chipped into mulch that’s used throughout the valley. In some spots, you can also grab free mulch for your yard or garden (bring your own containers and a shovel; first-come, first-served).

Can’t Drop It Off?

If you can’t make it to a drop site, a local company called Move It offers Christmas tree pickup for recycling for a fee (check current pricing/availability directly with the provider).

FAQs

Are flocked trees accepted?

No. Trees sprayed with artificial snow (“flocked” trees) cannot be recycled.

Do I need to remove the stand and decorations?

Yes—remove all lights, wire, tinsel, ornaments, nails, and the stand. Non-organic material can contaminate mulch and damage equipment.

Is Springs Preserve a drop site?

Yes, but it’s closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays and won’t accept trees on those days.

Is this free?

Drop-off recycling is free at official sites. Pickup services (if used) may charge a fee.
