Extra, extra, read all about it! Originally published in 1905 and operating until 1924, The Las Vegas Age was one of three newspapers in the not-yet-a-city of Las Vegas. The January 19, 1918 edition of the paper urged readers to “make Las Vegas the metropolis of Nevada.” The Las Vegas Review-Journal (featured above) came around in 1909. This April 6, 1955, issue reports about an atom bomb detonation at the Nevada Test Site, and a Tommy gun-slinging band of bank-robbers in New York City.
