Public Skating, Hockey, and Golden Knights Practices

City National Arena is the official practice facility and hockey headquarters of the Vegas Golden Knights. Located at 1550 S. Pavilion Center Drive in Downtown Summerlin, the arena has two full-size ice sheets and supports public skating, hockey, figure skating, classes, leagues, camps, private lessons, tournaments, parties, and private ice rentals.

The building also includes The Arsenal, an official Vegas Golden Knights team store, and MacKenzie River Pizza Pub & Grill, a full-service restaurant and bar overlooking both ice sheets.

Visitors seeking more places to skate can compare City National Arena with other Las Vegas ice-skating rinks before choosing a session.

City National Arena is a professional practice and community skating facility. Regular Vegas Golden Knights NHL home games take place at T-Mobile Arena, not here.

About City National Arena

City National Arena combines a professional NHL training environment with community access to skating and hockey.

Its two ice sheets support Golden Knights practices, player development, youth and adult leagues, figure skating, public sessions, private instruction, camps, clinics, tournaments, and special events.

A particular rink may be assigned to team activity, a league, practice, class, rental, tournament, or maintenance. Public access to the building does not guarantee access to either ice sheet.

Vegas Golden Knights Practices

City National Arena is the official practice facility of the Vegas Golden Knights.

Some practices may be open to spectators when announced. Public viewing is not guaranteed.

Practice times, rink assignments, player availability, seating access, photography, autograph opportunities, security procedures, media operations, and building access can change without notice.

Visitors should not travel to the arena expecting to meet a player or obtain an autograph.

Team areas, locker rooms, offices, training spaces, player entrances, service corridors, and restricted rink access are not public areas.

Public Open Skating

Open-skate sessions allow the public to enjoy recreational skating on one of the arena’s ice sheets.

Advance online registration is currently required. Participants must select a specific session, complete payment, and verify that the order was accepted.

Every participant must complete an electronic waiver. A parent or legal guardian must complete the waiver for a minor.

Skaters check in at Guest Services before entering the ice.

Admission, rental skates, annual passes, discounts, session lengths, refund rules, and capacity limits can change. Review the official registration page before purchasing.

Open-Skate Clothing and Equipment

The arena is cold even during hot Las Vegas weather. Wear long pants, a warm jacket or sweater, gloves, and socks that extend above the ankle.

Helmets are strongly recommended, especially for children, beginners, and anyone concerned about falling.

Rental helmets may be available with identification. Availability is not guaranteed.

Open-Skate Rules

Skaters must wear skates whenever they are on the ice.

Hockey sticks, pucks, headphones, food, drinks, glass, rough play, tag, excessive speed, and dangerous weaving are prohibited during open skating.

Do not carry a child, camera, handbag, phone, or another loose object while skating.

Follow the direction of skate guards and remain aware of slower skaters.

Leave the ice promptly when the horn sounds or the session ends.

Skating Walkers

Skating walkers may be available without an additional charge on a first-come, first-served basis.

An adult may need to help a child move the walker through the rink door and onto the ice.

A walker does not replace adult supervision or guarantee that a beginner will avoid a fall.

Vegas Golden Knights Skating Academy

The Vegas Golden Knights Skating Academy offers Learn to Skate classes for recreational skaters, future hockey players, and developing figure skaters.

Child classes currently begin at age four. New participants enter a beginning level based on age.

Adults can register for separate adult Learn to Skate sessions.

Classes are normally taught in a group format by professional instructors. Session dates, enrollment periods, class lengths, fees, rental inclusion, skill levels, and refund rules can change.

Participants should register for the level shown by the academy or instructor rather than selecting a more advanced class independently.

Youth and Adult Hockey

City National Arena offers hockey development for beginners, recreational players, league participants, travel players, and adults.

Current pathways may include Learn to Skate, NHL Learn to Play, Lil’ Knights, youth house leagues, Vegas Jr. Golden Knights travel hockey, adult Learn to Play, adult leagues, camps, clinics, and specialized coaching.

New hockey players may need to complete designated skating levels before joining a Learn to Play program.

Age, skating ability, equipment, coach approval, registration periods, USA Hockey membership, tryouts, team placement, and fees differ by program.

A youth program may provide selected equipment, while another may require families to supply a complete set. Review each program description carefully.

Open-skate admission does not include hockey practice or permit sticks and pucks on the ice.

Figure Skating and Freestyle Ice

Figure-skating opportunities include Learn to Skate, freestyle sessions, Golden Edge programs, private lessons, power skating, and the Vegas Golden Knights Center of Excellence.

Freestyle sessions are designed for skaters practicing individual skills, programs, choreography, jumps, spins, pairs, ice dance, or coached power skating.

Freestyle is not a substitute for open skate. Beginning skaters may need to remain with an instructor, while advanced or high-performance sessions have separate skill standards.

Capacity limits, music procedures, right-of-way rules, coaching authorization, required levels, clothing, payment, and session eligibility apply.

Skaters should enter only the session approved for their current ability.

Birthday Parties and Private Events

City National Arena offers private-event options for birthday parties, corporate outings, group skating, team activities, and approved gatherings.

The arena currently identifies one private event room with space for up to approximately 30 people.

Private ice may be booked when the arena schedule permits. A private room does not automatically include private ice.

Availability, room setup, skating admission, skate rentals, ice time, waivers, decorations, catering, fees, deposits, staffing, insurance, and cancellation terms can change.

All arena-event catering must currently be arranged through MacKenzie River Pizza Pub & Grill.

Submitting an inquiry does not confirm a reservation. Organizers should wait for written approval before announcing the arena as the event location.

MacKenzie River Pizza Pub & Grill

MacKenzie River Pizza Pub & Grill is located on the second floor between the arena’s two ice sheets.

The full-service restaurant and bar provides views toward both rinks.

Restaurant hours, reservations, menus, alcohol service, private dining, event bookings, rink views, and seating availability can change.

The restaurant operates separately from City National Arena. An arena event request does not create a restaurant reservation.

Guests attending only the restaurant should confirm current access and hours before traveling.

The Arsenal Team Store

The Arsenal is an official Vegas Golden Knights merchandise store located in the arena lobby.

Merchandise may include apparel, jerseys, hats, accessories, gifts, collectibles, and other team products.

Inventory, sizes, player merchandise, customization, prices, returns, release dates, and operating hours can change.

Store hours may not match the open-skate or hockey schedule.

Parking and Transportation

City National Arena is located in Downtown Summerlin near restaurants, stores, Las Vegas Ballpark, offices, and other destinations.

Parking availability and traffic can vary during Golden Knights practices, tournaments, skating programs, baseball games, community events, and busy shopping periods.

Follow posted parking signs and do not block fire lanes, loading areas, team entrances, accessible spaces, sidewalks, rideshare zones, or neighboring businesses.

Allow additional arrival time when Las Vegas Ballpark or Downtown Summerlin has a major event.

Rideshare pickup points may shift during busy programs. Confirm the location shown in the app and remain in a legal loading area.

Visitors using public transportation should verify current RTC routes, stops, service times, and walking distance before traveling.

Accessibility

City National Arena provides step-free public access to major lobby and spectator areas.

Accessibility may differ among rink seating, restaurant tables, retail displays, private-event rooms, locker areas, skate-rental counters, and ice entrances.

Ice-skating participation presents different access considerations than ordinary building entry.

Guests who need accessible parking, rinkside seating, companion seating, elevator access, restroom access, adaptive-skating information, service-animal guidance, or another accommodation should contact Guest Services before visiting.

Temporary team activity, tournaments, equipment bags, rink barriers, or event setups may alter normal circulation.
