About Clark County Museum

Clark County Museum preserves the stories, buildings, artifacts, photographs, and everyday experiences that shaped Las Vegas, Henderson, Boulder City, and surrounding Southern Nevada communities.

The museum goes beyond a traditional indoor gallery. Restored homes, transportation exhibits, mining artifacts, period furnishings, and outdoor trails allow visitors to see how Southern Nevadans lived and worked during different historical eras.

Temporary exhibitions and special programs explore important people, industries, communities, and events connected to Clark County’s history.

Heritage Street

Heritage Street is one of the museum’s signature attractions. This collection of restored homes and buildings recreates everyday life during different periods of Southern Nevada history.

Visitors can enter structures furnished to represent eras ranging from the 1910s through the 1970s. Instead of viewing household artifacts only inside display cases, guests can experience them within rooms designed to resemble the environments where they were originally used.

Historic structures and displays include:

• Goumond House
• Donald Reynolds Printshop
• Mobile America
• Beckley House
• Giles/Barcus House
• Babcock and Wilcox House
• Townsite House
• Esslinger Barn
• Railroad Cottage
• Candlelight Wedding Chapel
• Grand Canyon Airlines Ticketing Office and Bradley House

Anna Robert Parks Exhibit Hall

The Anna Robert Parks Exhibit Hall presents a chronological journey through Southern Nevada history, beginning with the Ice Age and continuing through the region’s modern entertainment era.

Exhibits explore ancient Pueblo communities, the Paiute people, early settlers, mining, transportation, townsites, Hoover Dam-era development, gaming, and the transformation of Las Vegas into an international entertainment destination.

The Heritage Gallery also presents rotating exhibitions featuring historical artifacts, artwork, photographs, documents, and stories from the museum’s collection.

---

Railroad Exhibits

Railroad enthusiasts can explore the restored 1932 Boulder City Depot and historic railroad equipment connected to Southern Nevada’s transportation and industrial development.

The collection includes a 1918 Union Pacific steam locomotive and a historic caboose. These exhibits help explain how rail transportation supported mining, regional growth, and major construction projects such as Hoover Dam.

---

Ghost Town and Mining Trail

The Ghost Town and Mining Trail presents historic structures, machinery, tools, mineral specimens, and other artifacts connected to Nevada mining communities.

The buildings are preserved with an “arrested decay” appearance that helps recreate the atmosphere of an aging Western settlement. The area includes original structures from Nevada communities, mining equipment, recreated Paiute shelters, and a scale house once used by the Bureau of Mines in Boulder City.
