About Spring Break Safari

Normally closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, the Springs Preserve opens its doors for the entire week of March 14 through March 22 to host this massive educational event. The safari transforms the preserve into a hub of interactive learning, ensuring children remain engaged and inspired while school is out.

Throughout the week, the facility offers a robust schedule of specialized programming. From meeting the expert Zoology team to learning about the science behind rainbows, the curriculum covers a broad spectrum of environmental sciences. Children even have the unique opportunity to earn an Oceanography badge by diving into ocean conservation topics.

What to Expect at Spring Break Safari

Most of the major scheduled activities, including the Desert Dwellers talk and Conservation for Kids classes, take place in the Desert Living Center Upper-Level Rooms A-D. However, you will also find drop-in demonstrations scattered throughout the expansive property, so be prepared to walk and explore.

Regarding what to wear to the preserve, comfortable walking shoes are an absolute must. Since you will be transitioning between indoor classrooms and outdoor desert trails, layering weather-appropriate, breathable clothing will keep the whole family comfortable throughout the day.

Do I need to make reservations for the classes?
No reservations are required for any of the scheduled programming. However, seats in the Desert Living Center fill up very quickly, so it is highly recommended to arrive early for specific talks.

Is the event completely free?
The activities are free for Springs Preserve members. For non-members, all safari programming is included with the cost of your standard general admission ticket.

Are the activities the same every day?
