A Visit to the Famous Pawn Shop of Las Vegas

If you’re a fan of the television show Pawn Stars, which features a famous pawn shop in Las Vegas, you might want to consider adding the World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop to your itinerary when you visit the city. This is the actual location where the show is filmed, and you can see the real items, meet the stars, and even sell or pawn your own valuables.

The Gold & Silver Pawn Shop is a must-see not only for Pawn Stars fans but also for history, art, or entertainment enthusiasts. It’s a unique and fascinating place with something to offer everyone. Whether you’re in search of a bargain, a souvenir, or an opportunity to appear on TV, you won’t be disappointed by visiting the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop.

Getting There

The Gold & Silver Pawn Shop is located at 713 S Las Vegas Blvd, a short distance from the Fremont Street Experience. You have several options to reach the shop from the Strip, where most hotels and casinos are. You can take a taxi, a rideshare, or a bus. The bus routes 113 and 207 stop near the shop, and the fare is $2.00 per ride or $8.00 for a 24-hour pass. You can also rent an electric GoCar, a bike, or a scooter. Additionally, you can join a guided tour that includes the shop as one of the stops.

What to Expect

The shop is open every day from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm, except on Christmas and Thanksgiving. You don’t have to pay anything to enter the shop, and the parking is also free. However, you should be ready to wait in line, as the shop is trendy and attracts thousands of visitors every day. The line can be exceptionally long during the filming days, which are usually on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. If you want to avoid the crowds, try to visit early in the morning or late in the afternoon.

When you arrive at the shop, you will be greeted by friendly staff and security guards. You can browse through various displays of items, some of which have been featured on the show. At the gift shop, you can buy souvenirs such as T-shirts, mugs, hats, coins, and books. If you have something to sell or pawn, you can visit the pawn window, which is open 24 hours a day.

While there’s no guarantee, you might get lucky and have your item appraised by one of the stars or experts. If you want to be on the show, you can email photos of your item and information to PawnStarsTVshow@itv.com. However, keep in mind that you must be able to come to Las Vegas with your item and be willing to appear on TV.

Tips and Tricks

  • If you want to meet the stars of the show, you can check their social media accounts or the shop’s website for their schedules. They are usually at the shop during filming days, but they might also be out for lunch, meetings, or other events. Additionally, you can try catching them at their other businesses, such as Rick’s Rollin Smoke BBQ & Tavern, Chumlee’s Candy on the Blvd, or Corey’s Smokin’ Hot Grill. All are located in Rick Harrison’s Pawn Plaza, a two-story retail center next door to the World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop.
  • To get an autograph or photo with stars, be polite and respectful. Don’t interrupt them while they work.
  • To ensure you get the best deals on your purchases, it’s recommended to conduct thorough research prior to making a purchase. Familiarize yourself with the item’s history, condition, and value, and be prepared to negotiate. You can also check the store’s online inventory or eBay listings for the item you’re interested in. However, it’s important to note that the prices may be higher than the market value, as the store is a popular tourist attraction and a location for a TV show.
  • The Gold & Silver Pawn Shop is more than just a pawn shop. It is a museum of history and culture. You can learn a lot from the items, the stories, and the people that you encounter there. You might also discover some hidden gems or surprises that you did not expect!
