This directory covers parking citations, not speeding tickets or other moving violations. A moving or traffic citation must be handled by the court named on that citation.

What to Do First

1. Photograph both sides of the citation. Keep a readable copy of the citation number, issuer, plate, date, location, alleged violation, amount, and response deadline.
2. Photograph the location. Capture signs, curb markings, meter or pay-station information, accessible-parking markings, and your vehicle’s position. Do this promptly and safely.
3. Save payment evidence. Preserve meter receipts, app confirmations, screenshots, permit records, placard records, and rental documents.
4. Confirm the issuer. Use the exact agency printed on the ticket, not a general web search or sponsored advertisement.
5. Choose between payment and a dispute. Read the agency’s instructions before paying because payment may be treated as acceptance of the citation.
6. Respond before the stated deadline. Online records may take time to appear, but a delayed portal entry does not automatically extend the deadline.

If the citation number is not found online, recheck the plate and citation number, allow reasonable processing time, and contact the issuing office before the response deadline.

City of Las Vegas Parking Tickets

City of Las Vegas Parking Services handles many citations issued downtown, in Symphony Park, and in the Arts District. Its online portal allows users to search, pay, and request an administrative appeal.

Paying or Appealing

Use the citation number and vehicle information requested by the portal. The city advises submitting an appeal within 30 days of the citation date to avoid penalties. Follow the current portal instructions and the deadline printed on the ticket.

Useful appeal evidence may include proof of payment covering the citation time, proof that the cited vehicle had already been sold, current registration records, an applicable parking permit, or valid accessible-parking credentials. Evidence does not guarantee dismissal or a reduction.

Strip Corridor and Unincorporated Clark County Citations

Most major Strip resorts are in unincorporated Clark County rather than within City of Las Vegas limits. That fact alone does not identify who issued a particular ticket. Check the citation for Clark County, the Department of Aviation, another government agency, or a private parking operator.

Clark County Deadlines

Clark County states that payment is due within 15 calendar days of issuance. A request for supervisor review must be received within five days. A formal administrative hearing request must be returned within 15 days with the required fine deposit unless the deposit is waived after proof of indigence.

Do not assume that paying a citation corrects any related code violation. Follow every compliance instruction printed on the notice.

Harry Reid International Airport Parking Citations

Airport citations have their own payment and administrative appeal process. Do not send an airport-issued citation to the general Clark County Code Enforcement office unless the ticket specifically directs you there.

The airport publishes an escalating fine schedule based on the original amount and how quickly payment is made. It also states that citations unpaid after 60 days may be reported to the Nevada DMV and delay vehicle registration. Review the current amounts for your citation instead of relying on a general example.

North Las Vegas Parking Citations

North Las Vegas Parking Services treats its parking infractions as civil matters. Contested parking infractions use an administrative adjudication process rather than North Las Vegas Municipal Court.

Use the city’s current online instructions to pay or contest the citation. Keep confirmation of any submission and do not assume a dispute is complete until the city acknowledges it.

Henderson Parking Citations

Henderson parking citations are handled through Henderson Municipal Court. This is different from Henderson Justice Court, which handles other matters within its jurisdiction.

The court’s online services provide options for parking citations. Review the specific case before entering a plea, accepting responsibility, or paying. The Henderson Justice Court traffic procedures and traffic-school rules do not govern an ordinary Henderson Municipal Court parking citation.

Boulder City Parking Tickets

Boulder City Municipal Court handles parking violations issued in Boulder City. The court states that a recipient may pay the full penalty within 90 calendar days after issuance or by the scheduled court date, as applicable.

Boulder City says parking violations do not add demerit points. Follow the court’s written-response and payment instructions for the exact citation. Do not confuse a parking ticket with a moving civil infraction, which has different consequences.

Parking Tickets on Rental Cars

A rental car does not make a parking citation disappear. The airport states that rental companies must provide renter information for airport parking citations so a delinquency notice can be issued to the renter.

Other rental-car procedures and administrative charges depend on the rental agreement and issuing authority. Save the citation, rental agreement, payment or appeal confirmation, and all correspondence. Contact both the issuer and rental company if the ticket is disputed or already paid.

Las Vegas Parking-Ticket FAQs

Is a Las Vegas parking ticket the same as a traffic ticket?

No. A stationary parking citation is generally handled through a civil or administrative process. A speeding ticket or other moving citation is handled by the court named on that citation. Do not use a parking portal to resolve a moving violation.

What happens if a parking ticket is not paid?

The consequences depend on the issuer. They can include added penalties, collections, a vehicle-registration hold, immobilization, towing, or other enforcement authorized by the applicable rules. For example, Clark County identifies collections and registration holds as possible consequences, while the airport says citations unpaid after 60 days may be reported to the DMV.

Can a vehicle be booted or towed for unpaid City of Las Vegas tickets?

City documents state that a vehicle may be towed or immobilized when it has more than $200 in unpaid parking fines and penalties and at least two unanswered parking infractions. Confirm the current account status and rules with Parking Services.

Do parking tickets add Nevada DMV demerit points?

Ordinary nonmoving parking violations generally do not add driving-record demerit points. Boulder City expressly states that its parking violations do not affect demerit points. A citation that includes a moving or other traffic offense must be evaluated separately.

Can I appeal after paying the ticket?

Do not assume so. Payment may be treated as acceptance or may limit further review. Read the issuer’s appeal rules before paying and submit the appeal by the stated deadline.

What if the ticket is from a private casino or parking operator?

Use the operator and dispute instructions printed on the notice. A private parking notice is not automatically processed through a city or county government portal. Contact the property or operator directly and keep written records of the response.
